Bus Traveling from Gorakhpur Falls into River in Tanahun; 42 Tourists from Maharashtra on Board On Friday, a tragic accident occurred when an Indian passenger bus fell into the Marsyangdi River in Tanahun district, Nepal. The bus, identified by number plate UP FT 7623, is currently lying on the riverbank.
Details of the Journey:
The bus, originating from Gorakhpur, was en route to Nepal and was carrying 42 tourists from Maharashtra. The journey began in Prayagraj, passing through Chitrakoot. The bus was booked by an individual named Charu through the Kesarwani Travel Office located near Tarang Chowk in Gorakhpur.
Rescue Operations:
DSP Deepkumar Raya of the District Police Office Tanahun confirmed the incident and stated that a rescue operation is underway. A team of 45 Armed Police Force personnel, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Madhab Paudel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School, is conducting the rescue operations at the scene.

The Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner has reported that efforts are being made to establish contact and verify if there were any passengers from Uttar Pradesh on the bus. Authorities are working diligently to manage the situation and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
