Tragic Mistake Class 12 Student Wrongly Killed in Faridabad

Class 12 Student Mistaken for Cow Smuggler Five Arrested in Faridabad Murder Case

Acused Allegedly Mistake Student for Cow Smuggler, Leading to Fatal Shooting

In a tragic case of mistaken identity, a class 12 student was murdered in Faridabad after being wrongly identified as a cow smuggler. The police have arrested five individuals in connection with the crime, who are reportedly self-styled cow protectors. The victim, Aryan Mishra, was shot dead following a high-speed chase on the night of August 23.

According to police reports, Aryan Mishra, a student of class 12, had gone out with his friends, Harshit and Shanky, in a Duster car to get Maggi around midnight on August 23. During their outing, the accused, driving a Swift car, received a tip-off from an informer about cow smugglers in Duster and Fortuner vehicles, supposedly transporting cows in tankers.

The accused, believing the Duster car with Mishra and his friends was involved in cow smuggling, signaled them to stop at Patel Chowk in Faridabad. However, Harshit, the driver of the Duster, thought the signal was from rival youths with whom they had a previous altercation, and tried to evade the stop.

Chase and Shooting

The Swift car followed the Duster for about 25 kilometers, breaking through the Palwal toll barrier in the process. The accused, increasingly convinced that the Duster occupants were cow smugglers, opened fire. A bullet shattered the rear glass of the Duster and struck Aryan Mishra, who was seated in the front passenger seat.

After the vehicle came to a halt, the accused approached the Duster and shot Aryan again in the chest, resulting in his death.

Investigation and Arrests

Faridabad Police PRO Yashpal Singh confirmed the arrests of Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, Adesh, and Saurav. Initially, to mislead the investigation, the accused claimed they had discarded the weapon used in the murder in the Bawana canal. However, the police later recovered the weapon from Anil Kaushik’s residence.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case, and further legal actions are underway.

This tragic incident highlights the dangerous consequences of mistaken identity and the vigilantism surrounding cow protection in the region.
