Deputy CM Acknowledges Error in Election Strategy In a candid admission, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar conceded that it was a mistake to field his wife, Sunetra Pawar, against his sister, Supriya Sule, in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Ajit Pawar, who is currently on a state-wide ‘Jan Samman Yatra’ ahead of Maharashtra’s assembly elections later this year, expressed regret, stating, “Politics should not be allowed inside the house. I love all my sisters, and I now feel that the decision to field Sunetra against Supriya was wrong.”

Supriya Sule Responds to Ajit Pawar’s Admission

Supriya Sule, Ajit Pawar’s sister and a prominent Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, has yet to comment extensively on her brother’s remarks, noting she had not seen the news yet. Congress leader Manikrao Thakre remarked that Ajit Pawar would gradually come to terms with his errors.

Ajit Pawar’s Plans for Raksha Bandhan

When asked about Raksha Bandhan, Ajit Pawar mentioned he would meet his sisters if their paths crossed on that day. He emphasized his commitment to focusing on development and welfare issues rather than engaging in political criticism.

Ajit Pawar on Sharad Pawar and BJP Criticism

Ajit Pawar also refrained from responding to criticisms of his uncle, Sharad Pawar, a senior leader and head of their family. He emphasized that while he voices his opinions within the alliance, he avoids public disputes, especially with BJP and Shiv Sena critics.

Amidst political developments, Ajit Pawar is actively promoting the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Behen Yojana,’ a scheme providing monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500 to women.
