CBI Probes Delays and Alleged Cover-Up in Kolkata Doctor Rape and Murder Case

Kolkata Doctor Case Delays and Possible Cover-Up Under Investigation

Investigation Unveils Delays in Police Response

The tragic rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata has shocked the nation. In an ongoing investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is scrutinizing delays in the police response. According to reports, there was a 40-minute delay in informing the local police after the body was discovered. The Kolkata Police’s timeline indicates that the body was found at 9:30 AM, but Tala Police Station was only notified at 10:10 AM.

Police Arrived at the Scene an Hour Late

The Kolkata Police’s response time is under scrutiny as they reportedly arrived at the crime scene an hour after the body was found. The CBI is investigating whether this delay allowed the crime scene to be compromised. Additionally, the CBI is reviewing the call detail records (CDR) of former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital Principal Sandeep Ghosh to determine if there was any interference in the investigation.

CBI Questions Police Officers and Reviews Crime Scene Integrity

The CBI has questioned several police officers, including the officer in charge of Tala Police Station, to understand the full scope of the incident and the police response. The agency has informed the Supreme Court that the crime scene was tampered with before the CBI took over the case. In response, the Kolkata Police have rejected these claims, asserting that there was no compromise in the crime scene at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
