Elon Musk Sparks Controversy with Deleted Post About Trump and Other Politicians

Elon Musk's Controversial Social Media Post About Trump Sparks Backlash

Social Media Comment Causes Stir After Recent Attack on Former President Trump

Just hours after the FBI reported a second attempted attack on former President Donald J. Trump, Elon Musk made a social media post that stirred controversy. Musk, who owns the platform X (formerly known as Twitter), posted a comment questioning why no one was trying to harm President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris. He later deleted the post, claiming it was meant as a joke.

In his post, Musk responded to a user asking why people wanted to attack Trump by saying, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.” His comment, which included a thinking-face emoji, quickly drew backlash from many people.

Musk later admitted that his joke did not translate well on social media. He posted, “Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on X. Turns out that jokes are WAY less funny if people don’t know the context and the delivery is plain text.”

The Secret Service had reported a dramatic incident on Sunday when they fired at an armed man at Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Trump was at the club playing golf at the time, and the suspect was later arrested. This attack followed a previous incident in July, where Trump was shot in the ear by an attacker at a rally in Pennsylvania. That attacker was killed by law enforcement.

Elon Musk, known for his unconventional and often controversial comments, has been a prominent figure in the news for his bold and sometimes provocative statements. His remarks about the election and other topics have often sparked debate. For instance, he recently shared a misleading story about immigrants and made an offbeat comment about singer Taylor Swift.

Musk’s behavior highlights his reputation as a wealthy and influential figure who frequently challenges social norms and political correctness.
