Sangeeta, once a typical housewife from Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, has become a beacon of success under the MP Lakhpati Didi Yojana. Managing a Farmer Producer Company, she transformed her life and now serves as an inspiration nationwide. Her achievements were recently recognized at the “Lakhpati Didi Sammelan” in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi applauded her success. The event, led by Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, highlighted the scheme’s impact and the transformative power of financial support for women.

Significant Financial Allocations and Success Stories

During the Sammelan, Prime Minister Modi awarded certificates to 11 lakh Lakhpati Didi, acknowledging their accomplishments. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan distributed substantial financial aid to support these women. The government released over Rs 6,000 crore for Sakhi Mandals nationwide and allocated Rs 5,000 crore in bank loans, benefiting 25.8 lakh members of 2.35 lakh self-help groups.

Sangeeta’s Farmer Producer Organization, which began in 2021, quickly made a mark with a turnover of Rs 2.48 crore in its first year. Now, with over 2,000 women involved, including 1,200 who have become ‘Lakhpati Didi,’ the company has achieved an annual turnover of Rs 5.43 crore.

Benefits of the MP Lakhpati Didi Yojana

The MP Lakhpati Didi Yojana offers up to Rs 5 lakh in interest-free loans to women, aiding their journey towards economic independence. To benefit from this scheme, women must join a self-help group and present a business plan along with relevant documents. The scheme targets women aged 18 to 50 years.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has set an ambitious goal to create 3 crore Lakhpati Didi within the next three years, with 1 crore already achieving this status. The program includes financial support and skill development training to foster self-reliance among women.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the MP Lakhpati Didi Yojana, applicants must meet the following criteria:

– Resident of Madhya Pradesh

– Annual family income below Rs 2 lakh

– Age 18 years or older

– Must choose a self-employment scheme under the initiative

– Not a recipient of benefits from other government assistance schemes
