Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh A major explosion took place at a chemical factory in the Atchutapuram Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Anakapalle district on Wednesday, injuring around 15 workers. The explosion occurred suddenly in a reactor at the facility, causing significant damage and emergency response.
Injured Workers Admitted to Hospital
Following the explosion, the injured workers were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. News agency ANI reported that Anakapalle Superintendent of Police (SP) Deepika confirmed the injuries, stating, “15 people were injured in a reactor explosion incident at a company in Atchutapuram SEZ. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.”
Government and Emergency Response
In response to the explosion, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has directed the District Collector and the SP to visit the blast site. The instructions include ensuring that the injured workers receive comprehensive medical care and investigating the cause of the explosion.
