Heartbreaking Tragedy Sparks Controversy in Texas Senate Race

Mother of Murdered Girl Blames Democratic Policies for Loss the tragic death of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray has become a focal point in the Texas Senate race, with her mother, Alexis Nungaray, speaking out against Democratic policies she believes contributed to the crime.

Jocelyn Nungaray, a young girl from Texas, was found dead in June after being strangled and thrown off a bridge by two Venezuelan nationals. The suspects, who had entered the U.S. illegally, have been charged with capital murder.

In a new campaign ad released by the Win It Back PAC, Alexis Nungaray expresses her grief and frustration. She claims that her daughter’s murder was a direct result of “catch and release” policies enacted by the Biden-Harris administration. Nungaray argues that the suspects were allowed to stay in the U.S. because of these policies, which she believes led to her daughter’s death.

Nungaray’s comments come as Rep. Colin Allred, a Democratic candidate running against Sen. Ted Cruz, is facing scrutiny. Nungaray asserts that if Allred wins, it would be a devastating blow, further attributing her daughter’s death to his policies.

Rep. Colin Allred has called Nungaray’s tragedy a “heartbreaking event” but has also criticized Cruz for using the incident for political gain. Allred has tried to distance himself from blame, while Cruz has been using the situation to question Democratic immigration policies.

Earlier this month, Alexis Nungaray testified before the House Judiciary Committee, condemning the current administration’s border policies. She detailed how the suspects were released into the U.S. under the Alternatives to Detention program, leading to the events that resulted in her daughter’s death.

Nungaray describes the moments leading up to her daughter’s death, including the suspects’ presence on video and the profound fear Jocelyn must have felt. Her story continues to resonate as it intersects with the ongoing political debate over immigration policies and their impact on public safety.
