Thousands Face Issues Sending Messages as Platform Experiences Technical Glitch
Instagram’s direct messaging feature has experienced significant outages for thousands of users globally, with reports indicating that the problems began at approximately 5:14 PM. According to Downdetector, a website that tracks service disruptions, users have reported difficulties in sending messages, with some messages disappearing automatically after being sent.
So far, over 2,000 reports have been logged, indicating a widespread issue affecting users across various regions. Many users have turned to other social media platforms to voice their frustration, leading to a surge of memes targeting Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and the company itself.
As of now, neither Instagram nor its parent company, Meta, has issued an official statement regarding the outage. The cause of the technical problems remains unknown, and it appears that issues persist.
This is not the first time Instagram has faced such challenges. Just two weeks ago, on October 15, both Facebook and Instagram experienced a major outage that affected thousands of users in the United States.
Users continue to wait for resolution and clarity on the ongoing issues, hoping for a prompt fix from the social media giant.
