Madhya Pradesh CM Lauds 33% Women Reservation Law as a Step Towards Empowerment

Commitment to Women Empowerment: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav voiced strong support for the recent legislation granting 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies.Yadav highlighted that this move will significantly empower women and enhance their roles in public life. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in enacting the law, emphasizing that it represents a major step forward for Indian democracy. 

Government Initiatives for Menstrual Health

In addition to his comments on women’s political representation, Yadav also drew attention to his government’s efforts in improving menstrual health among adolescent girls. On August 11, he transferred Rs 57.18 crore to the accounts of 1.9 million school girls as part of the Samagra Shiksha Program. This initiative aims to provide sanitary napkins to female students from grades seven to twelve.

UNICEF Commends Efforts

The India unit of UNICEF recently praised Yadav’s initiative to distribute sanitary napkins to school girls, recognizing its positive impact on menstrual health. Yadav expressed his gratitude for this acknowledgment and reiterated his commitment to advancing women’s welfare through such programs.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the ongoing efforts of the Madhya Pradesh government, Yadav believes that India will continue to progress and showcase the strength of its democracy.
