In a recent cabinet meeting held on February 5, the Maharashtra government unveiled the Mukhyamantri Vayoshri Yojana, a new initiative to provide financial assistance to senior citizens aged 65 and above.
The scheme offers Rs 3000 per month to help those facing economic difficulties or physical disabilities. This measure is intended to support approximately 12% of senior citizens in Maharashtra, enhancing their quality of life by enabling them to purchase essential assistive devices.
The Mukhyamantri Vayoshri Yojana aims to provide financial support to senior citizens aged 65 years or older, especially those who are economically disadvantaged or physically impaired. The monthly aid of Rs 3000 is designed to assist beneficiaries in acquiring assistive devices such as walkers, wheelchairs, and hearing aids, thereby improving their comfort and independence.
Beneficiaries will receive Rs 3000 as a one-time financial assistance, which will be directly deposited into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
