Overview of PMAY and PMAY Gramin
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, aimed at providing affordable housing to the poor, was originally introduced as the Indira Gandhi Awas Yojana in 1985. The initiative has a target completion period of 18 months, with a budget allocation of Rs 1.20 lakh crore for the beneficiaries.
