Jaipur: Police Report Proposes Cancellation of Recruitment
The controversy surrounding the Rajasthan sub-inspector recruitment exam has intensified as the police have submitted an investigation report to the state government, proposing the cancellation of the entire recruitment process. The report comes in the wake of a significant paper leak scandal that has already led to the arrest of 42 trainee sub-inspectors.
Paper Leak Scandal Unveiled
The Special Operations Group (SOG) began investigating the case in February, uncovering two separate paper leak gangs. The investigation revealed that 37 trainee sub-inspectors, who had obtained leaked papers, were arrested. More recently, five additional trainees, including the children of former RPSC member Ramuram Kaika, were apprehended. The SOG’s additional Director General, Vijay Kumar Singh, has suggested cancelling the recruitment, detailing how the exam papers were leaked from examination centers and disseminated via social media.
Implications for Trainee Sub-Inspectors
With the training of the sub-inspectors set to conclude in two months, the state government faces a dilemma. Cancelling the recruitment could adversely affect honest candidates who have completed their training without cheating. These individuals may seek legal recourse if the recruitment is annulled. The government must decide soon, given that the trainee sub-inspectors’ field training is about to commence.
As the investigation continues and the government deliberates, the fate of the recruitment process remains uncertain. The situation underscores the challenges in maintaining integrity within public recruitment processes and the consequences of systemic corruption.
