Massive Assault Hits Multiple Ukrainian Cities with Missiles and Drones

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported that Russia has carried out its most extensive attack to date, targeting several cities, including Kyiv, with more than 100 missiles and drones. Zelensky stated that Russia used hundreds of Shahid drones for the assault. These Iranian-made drones are known for their dangerous capabilities as suicide drones with a range of about 2,500 kilometers. The attack has led to widespread power outages in many cities, including Kyiv. Russian military sources have indicated that the primary target was Ukraine’s major energy infrastructure.

Kinzhal Hypersonic Missiles and Persistent Drone Threats

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed that Russia attacked 15 regions of Ukraine with drones and cruise missiles. Shmyhal also reported the use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles in the assault. Ukrainian Air Force reports indicate that Russian drones continue to hover over Ukraine, with several approaching Kyiv. The Kyiv Military Administration has stated that Ukraine’s defense systems have successfully intercepted 15 missiles and 15 drones so far.

Zelensky Condemns Putin and Urges Global Action

Following the attacks, President Zelensky issued a statement on his Telegram channel, calling Russian President Vladimir Putin a “sick person.” Describing the attack as the largest yet, Zelensky reported that cities including Kyiv and Odessa were targeted with over 100 missiles and drones. He noted the use of Shahid drones and expressed condolences to the families of those killed. Zelensky criticized the global community for failing to take decisive action against terrorism, asserting that all world leaders and allies know what steps are necessary to end the war justly.

Ukraine’s Retaliatory Drone Strike on Saratov

Earlier today, Ukraine carried out a drone attack on a 38-story residential building in Saratov, Russia. This attack has been compared to the 9/11 attacks in the U.S. due to its scale and impact. The strike caused significant damage to half of the building and left a woman seriously injured.

Kremlin Rejects Peace Talks, Vows Retaliation

The Kremlin has declared that there are no ongoing secret talks between Russia and Ukraine and that the time for negotiations has ended. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected reports that Ukraine’s attack on the Kursk region disrupted ceasefire talks, asserting that there is no longer any justification for discussions with Ukraine. Peskov promised a decisive response to the Ukrainian attacks.
