Gonda, Uttar Pradesh — A scandal has emerged in Gonda district involving Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, a former sweeper who allegedly amassed substantial wealth while serving as a Nazir in the Devipatan Commissioner’s Office.
From Sweeper to Nazir: A Controversial Promotion
Jaiswal, initially employed as a sweeper at Nagar Palika Parishad Gonda, was promoted to the role of Nazir at the Commissioner’s Office. Investigations suggest that he exploited this position to manipulate files and accumulate assets worth crores.
Luxury Cars and Hidden Wealth
The inquiry has uncovered that Jaiswal owns nine luxury vehicles, including a Swift Dzire, Ertiga Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra Scorpio, Toyota Innova, and Mahindra Xylo. Additionally, vehicles are registered in the names of his brother, Umashankar Jaiswal, and his wife, Baby Jaiswal. These findings came to light following a complaint about document tampering.
Suspension and Investigation
Following the allegations, Jaiswal has been suspended. A formal case has been registered at Nagar Kotwali, and Sadar Tehsildar Devendra Yadav has been assigned to investigate Jaiswal’s assets. The Assistant Divisional Transport Officer has confirmed the luxury vehicle ownership.
Financial Records Under Scrutiny
Authorities are now reviewing Jaiswal’s bank account details and have requested records for the past five years. Further legal actions will be determined based on the findings.
