Starting at Rs 17.49 Lakh, Tata Curvv EV Sets New Standards in the Electric Vehicle Market Tata Motors has officially launched its much-anticipated electric vehicle, the Tata Curvv EV, in India. With a starting price of Rs 17.49 lakh, rising to Rs 21.99 lakh for the top model (ex-showroom), this new offering is poised to transform the Indian automotive landscape. Bookings for the Tata Curvv EV will commence on August 12, 2024, with test drives scheduled to begin on August 14, 2024.
A Game-Changer in the SUV Coupe Segment
The Tata Curvv EV introduces a novel SUV coupe design to the Indian mass market, a segment previously dominated by luxury carmakers. This innovative body style distinguishes itself from existing models such as the Tata Nexon, which also features a sloping roofline but does not adopt a full SUV coupe profile.
Color Options and Design Highlights
The Tata Curvv EV will be available in five distinctive colors: Virtual Sunrise, Pure Grey, Pristine White, Flame, and Empowered Oxide. The design closely mirrors Tata’s contemporary electric vehicles like the Nexon EV and Punch EV, featuring a sleek LED bar across the front profile and a sculpted bumper reminiscent of the Nexon EV. The side profile boasts new 18-inch alloy wheels and a coupe-like sloping roofline, while the rear showcases a sleek LED taillight bar and a robust bumper. The vehicle also offers a 35-liter storage area under the front hood and a 500-liter boot capacity.

Safety and Performance
The Tata Curvv EV is constructed using 13% advanced high-strength steel, aiming for a 5-star BNVSAP safety rating. It will be available in two battery variants: a 45 kWh option offering an ARAI-certified range of 502 km and a 55 kWh option with a range of 585 km. Real-world ranges are estimated at 350 km and 425 km, respectively. The EV features a 165 bhp motor and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 160 kmph. Tata claims the Curvv EV has 25-30% better acceleration compared to competitors.
Charging and Efficiency
The Curvv EV can charge enough to cover 150 km in just 15 minutes, thanks to its four-stage regenerative braking system that optimizes range.
Premium Interior and Advanced Features
Inside, the Tata Curvv EV offers a premium experience with a 12.3-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, an all-digital instrument cluster, and a JBL sound system with nine speakers. The infotainment system includes Tata’s Arcade.EV, providing access to OTT platforms like Hotstar, Prime Video, and YouTube, alongside Spotify, Park+, Audible, and Amazon Music. The vehicle features a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, ambient lighting, and ADAS Level 2 with 20 features. Additional highlights include the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) for speeds under 20 kmph.
Accessories and Customization
Tata Motors is also offering the Tata.EV Original Accessories package, which includes floor mats, pet sheets, heated blankets, wireless coffee makers, and over 60 other accessories, all covered by a two-year warranty.
With its innovative design, advanced features, and competitive pricing, the Tata Curvv EV is set to make a significant impact in the Indian electric vehicle market.
