Tragic Incident in Sundar Nagar: Doctor Electrocuted by Fallen High Tension Wire

On Monday night at approximately 8 PM, a devastating accident occurred in Sundar Nagar Colony of Ashoka Garden. The incident was caused by severe waterlogging on the road, which led to an electrical current spreading through the area. Dr. Upendra Tiwari, a respected physician, was severely burnt as a result. Despite being rushed to a nearby private hospital, Dr. Tiwari was pronounced dead at 10 PM that night.

Circumstances Leading to the Accident

Dr. Upendra Tiwari, who resided on 80 Feet Road in Ashoka Garden, was known for running a clinic with his wife, Dr. Dimple Tiwari. Their clinic, situated in a rented shop in Sundar Nagar, was their primary place of practice. As was his routine, Dr. Upendra arrived at the clinic at 8 PM. On this particular evening, the road outside their clinic was heavily waterlogged due to persistent rainfall.

While he was in the process of opening the clinic, a high tension electrical wire, which was precariously positioned above, broke and fell onto the waterlogged road. This caused an immediate and dangerous spread of electrical current through the water. Dr. Upendra, who was attempting to move his bike away from the area, suffered a severe electric shock. The shock caused him to lose consciousness, and he was severely burnt in the process.

Response and Aftermath

Following the accident, there was a sudden power outage in the area, which added to the confusion and urgency of the situation. Concerned local residents quickly transported Dr. Tiwari and others who were injured to the nearest hospital. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Dr. Tiwari was declared dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The news of Dr. Tiwari’s death prompted a significant reaction from the local community. A large crowd gathered at the scene, expressing their frustration and demanding accountability from the electricity department for the incident. To manage the situation, TI Hemant Srivastava from Ashoka Garden police station arrived with his team. The police assured the crowd that appropriate action would be taken, and a case has been registered. An investigation into the accident is currently ongoing to determine the cause and prevent future occurrences.
