Epic Universe Awaits Discover the Future of Family Fun at Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe A New Era for Theme Park Experiences

When the Wizarding World of Harry Potter debuted at Universal Orlando Resort in June 2010, eager fans faced grueling six-hour waits under the sweltering sun. To prevent a repeat of this chaos, Universal is rolling out a strategic approach for the highly anticipated opening of Epic Universe on May 22.

Exclusive Multiday Packages for Early Access

In a move to manage visitor flow, Universal will initially sell tickets exclusively for Epic Universe as part of multiday packages. Ranging from $352 to $521, these packages grant one-day admission to the new park and two days at Universal’s existing parks. Ticket sales begin Tuesday, with additional options, including single-day tickets, expected to launch in the coming months.

Aiming for a Seamless Visitor Experience

Universal’s goal is clear: create a welcoming environment for first-time guests while encouraging families to view the resort as a weeklong destination rather than a quick stop on a Disney trip. According to research firm MoffettNathanson, Epic Universe is projected to draw around 10 million visitors in its first full year.

An Investment in the Future of Family Entertainment

Comcast, the parent company of Universal, has invested billions into the 70-acre Epic Universe, which will include attractions, dining, and shopping experiences. This expansion is set to outshine the original Harry Potter area, which spans just 20 acres, with major rides themed around Nintendo, “How to Train Your Dragon,” classic movie monsters, and, of course, Harry Potter.

Impact on the Theme Park Landscape

Craig Moffett, co-founder of MoffettNathanson, suggests that Epic Universe represents a pivotal shift in the theme park competition. He estimates that Universal could attract around a million visitors away from Disney World between mid-2025 and the end of 2026.

As Epic Universe gears up to open its gates, Universal Orlando Resort is not just launching a new theme park; it’s setting a new standard for guest experience in the competitive world of family entertainment. With thoughtful planning and a focus on creating lasting memories, Universal aims to welcome visitors for years to come.
