AAP's Jaipur Office Rent Dispute Landlord Claims Unpaid Bills

AAP Faces Rent Dispute in Jaipur landlord Accuses Party of Non-Payment

Landlord Claims Outstanding Payments A controversy has emerged involving the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over an alleged failure to pay rent for its office in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Piyush Dudi, the landlord of the office, has accused AAP of neglecting to pay rent since November 2023. Despite vacating the premises in January 2024, the party has not settled the outstanding rent, according to Dudi.

Details of the Rental Agreement

The AAP had leased an 8,000 square foot office space from Dudi starting in April 2021. Initially, the monthly rent was Rs 2.25 lakh, which was later reduced to Rs 1.65 lakh. Dudi claims that the party stopped making payments in November 2023 and left the property in January 2024, yet the pending dues remain unpaid. Efforts to resolve the matter through repeated requests have reportedly been unsuccessful. Dudi has now indicated that he may seek legal recourse and involve the police to address the issue.

AAP’s Reaction and Leadership’s Silence

Naveen Paliwal, the AAP’s state president for Rajasthan, has chosen not to publicly address the rent dispute. Paliwal described the situation as an internal matter between the party and the landlord, suggesting it will be resolved privately. He also noted that despite the recent Rajasthan assembly election results, where AAP did not secure any seats, the party remains focused on expanding its presence and continuing its organizational activities. Paliwal highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s base across the state and maintain regular meetings and engagements with party workers.

In the Rajasthan assembly elections, AAP fielded candidates in several constituencies but did not achieve electoral success. The party’s activities leading up to the elections included increased engagement and meetings with party members, yet these efforts did not translate into electoral victories. Despite this, AAP continues to work on its expansion strategy and organizational development.
